Actors will learn the fundamentals of knife combat on film. From the shared language in choreography to set etiquette when it comes to handling knives, this class serves as the primer for knife combat.
JUNE 6TH
Knife Fundamentals on Set - 3pm-5pm
Knife Geometry and Movement- 7pm-9pm
This class focuses on movement with deadly weapons - how to keep yourself safe while navigating a scene with a weapon, how to portray someone who is trained vs. someone who is not trained, how to set and maintain distance while staying in character. You will also learn the difference between angle-based systems and target based systems.
JUNE 8TH
Knife Anatomy and Physiology-7pm-9pm
JUNE 9TH
Different knives have different purposes, and as such they have different effects on the human body. This class is all about the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of different strikes and weapons on the human body, and how an actor can better prepare themselves for portraying the wound.
JUNE 12TH
Prison Fight vs. Hero Fight-3pm-5pm
Actors will discover the difference between film and reality when it comes to fights.
